She feels she has been deceived, and she feels she was never truly loved by her family. However, should you reveal to Rya the circumstances of her birth, she is devastated. And it reflects well on Tanith that she didn't discard her accidental child instead she raised Rya with love and sought to protect her, teaching her how to appear human so that people would not hurt her. Rya's human form is a disguise you later meet her in her true form, and she's relieved that you still treat her with kindness. Tanith has her servants hunting down the heroes of the land, but is no less a loving mother.Īnd that's quite something, given that Rya is actually a snake-person - a failed experiment resulting from an occult rite. Tanith is acutely aware of Rya's pure heart, and protective of it, even as Tanith wages her shadow war against others. You see, Rya is probably the most wholesome character in Elden Ring. although I'm not sure she necessarily *knows* that her recruits will hunt people. Rya acts as a scout, venturing out into the world to recruit fighters to their cause. You come to learn she is the daughter of Tanith, the masked woman who runs the manor and oversees its order of assassins, who are rebelling against the ruling gods. She has a stooped posture and appears a bit. This character triggered some fierce paternal instincts in me.įor those not familiar with Rya from Elden Ring (and not concerned about spoilers), she is a kind young woman who lives in manor atop a volcano (fittingly named Volcano Manor).
